IC Date: Month 11 2267 to Month 6 2268
(Turns 7-8 of the 10th Pass)
Please do not go beyond these dates; going back and doing threads in the past is fine, going into the future is not.
Threadfall: Ongoing; intermittent and unlikely to freeze as the weather warms
Following a spectacular flight, Queen Minervath was caught by King Sulith and is now heavy with eggs. A new clutch is on the way, but will it be anything like her last or will this time bring joy and not sorrow?

Meanwhile, the Weyr continues to recover from the disastrous fallout of the first Threadfall of the Turn. Thread was successfully fought, but there were many injuries that brought the fighting strength of the Weyr down. A meeting has been called amongst the Weyr's leadership, Weyrlingmasters and Wingleaders to determine where the weaknesses lie.

In happier news, Senior Queen Kansk and Soldier-King Candesk have laid clutches, and as the eggs have hardened it has become clear that a joint hatching is to be expected.

We're fairly hands-off on rules here at Storm Nexus, but we do have a basic framework we'd like you all to follow.

The first and most important rule of all is "Don't be a dick", paired with "Use common sense". Keep that in mind, and everything should go well. (Your characters can be dicks, though; that can be fun. :3)

As for specifics:

-No godmodding

-It's okay for your characters to be special - the population is huge, so we can have statistical anomalies in the PC population - but keep it plausible and interesting

-Keep things PG-13; fade to black if that becomes relevant, and if you're going to swear in posts try to use Pernese profanity if you know it (If you don't, it's okay to use ones you do know, though due to Pern's overall lack of religion, please keep religious swears out of it unless your character is specifically religious)

-When writing/replying to posts, we have two requirements: 1) make sure there's enough for someone to respond to, and 2) make sure a reader can understand what you're saying (it doesn't have to be perfect, but please use your best English; no chatspeak in prose, please)

-Stay consistent with the site canon; it's okay to make mistakes - nobody's perfect - but we will ask you to change things if you go off the rails

-If you're not sure if something's okay, or if you have questions about anything, ask an admin; we don't bite, and we're happy to clarify things for you. And if you're not sure if you should ask or not, always err on the side of asking.

On formatting speech:

"This is a humanoid talking out loud."

This is a humanoid talking telepathically.

"This is a draconic being, such as a dragonkin Ferali, speaking out loud."

This is a dragon talking. The italics are encouraged, but in no way required.

This is wher talking. Do not use silly speech from other sites; whers here can talk just fine, if not usually with perfect grammar, though could still do third person if you really wanted to and the wher would want to in character. Italics are not required here either.

::This is a tertiary such as a fyx talking.::

::Wyvern talk! Things like wyvern talk! Not need italics.::

And finally, please read all the threads in this forum and reply where appropriate; even if they're not all pinned, they're all important.
